Co(OH)2(0001) Adlayer on Co(0001)

This in situ STM image depicts the surface morphology of a Co(0001) single crystal surface after incresing the potential to E = -0.65 V, which is prior to the onset of primary passivity (The potential step has been published two days ago STM image of the potential step. The terrace is covered by a one monolayer of Co(OH)2(0001) showing a hexagonal superstructure (moiré pattern). A magnification of this pattern will be given tomorrow.
